Is INR Accepted in Nepal?
Yes, Indian Rupees (INR) are widely accepted in Nepal. However, it is important to note that Nepal's central bank has banned ₹ 500 notes. And only ₹100 notes are accepted in Nepal. Indian travelers visiting Nepal can carry a maximum of INR 25,000, the amount of cash you may carry per person.
We would like to suggest that you please exchange Indian currency for Nepalese Rupees (NPR) at authorized Money changers or banks in Nepal. So it is always a good idea to carry some local currency for smaller transactions. If you are searching for Nepal holiday packages, we have a special tour package for Indian travellers.
